Type Locality and Naming

Along the Talhab stream, SW Gissar. M.R. Jalilov, 1968 (190, p.43). Stratotype at the Talhab stream, at the southern end of the Kelif-Sarykamysh ridge. Enters the Talhab Horizon and Adamtash Gr (56; 189; 300; 383; 446; 452).

Synonym: Talhab Suite, Талхабская св., Talkhab Fm


Lithology and Thickness

Dark and greenish-gray clays with layers of marls and shell limestones. Thickness 66-170 m.


Lithology Pattern:

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Lies conformably on the Gazdagan Fm

Upper contact

It is overlain conformably by the Dasgirak Fm.

Regional extent

Southwest Gissar, Babatag Range.
